Thanks so much, Abby! That means a lot coming from you. You killed it yesterday and I was so happy to see you, if only on screen. And of course you loved the smoking one! 😂
You're very brave! I performed with Writer's Read last spring in NYC. I felt like I'd totally bombed--at least compared to some of the seasoned veterans of The Moth that joined the "cast" that day (our essays were on "Television"). They filmed it but I cannot bear to look at the recording. The one time I started to, I saw sweat pooling above my upper lip.
Thanks so much, Heidi! I'm sure you didn't bomb, but it feels that way when you're up there sweating and your mouth is all dry--I get it. It's definitely better the more prepared you are, and you'll know what's coming next time. Having Moth-level competition is brutal for most of us, so I think you're brave too!
Thanks for being there last evening. I just watched both your Woodstock slams. I hope you've checked out the upcoming themes foe Wham BAM and will be reading at one of those.
Loved both your slams, Lisa. Maybe especially the smoking one. Kools!
Abigail, your reading yesterday was wonderful. Pretty sneaky of Nan to put you at the end of the lineup. She knew no one would slip out early.
I agree that would seem like a great strategy, but I also think the storytellers did such an amazing job that nobody had time to think of leaving!

As you know, I love doing story slams, and Martha Frankel gave me my start. I will be forever grateful to her for that and many other things.
So, when are you going to sign up and do a slam with WBTYS? I don't think you have yet, huh? xo
I want to, I’m just waiting for the right story to come to me. I want it to be good, and I can’t force it!

Thanks so much, Eileen! I'm trying to think of something that fits, so hoping something clicks soon. I would love to do it!
